A little blog makeover if you will

Well hey friends.

So remember that boy I barely introduced you to in the last post? You do? Oh good, he's definitely one you'll want to remember. Because crazy or not, I just married him! I figured since he keeps me young by making me laugh so much and I love him just a LITTLE bit (make that a lot), this little blog of mine needed a makeover to include him in it. Don't worry though, the posts will get a lot more exciting with him in the picture. ;) I know there are about a million things to update you about on here...

1. Our wedding day
2. Our honeymoon
3. Actually being married (I've heard it changes a lot of things?)
4. Thanksgiving
5. And soon enough we'll be to Christmas!

And I know you'll want lots of pictures. Probably why I haven't done any of this yet since I don't really know where to start. But I suppose THIS is a start! Stay tuned and say what up to the new and improved Mr. and Mrs. McKarns...
PS. There's a lot more where that came from... and some are even a little cuter ;)

Disappeared, but found a little something.

It's been a while. I've been a little busy... and that busyness may or may not include a fine young man. Perhaps, this fine young man.

Meet Adam.

Okay, fine here's a better one where you get to see his cute smile :)

The man that I may or may not have fallen in love with in two weeks [ironically the amount of time it took for all the other guys/myself I've semi-dated in the past year to realize the spark just wasn't there anymore] and may or may not have gotten engaged to 3 months later.

Turns out you can eliminate all the above may nots because it's true.

I left off in MAY which is when I really started getting to know Adam. My former roommate Kim invited me to go hot tubbing with her brother's roommates that she had been hanging out a lot with, Adam being one of them, and he hit on me pretty hardcore. The 2 funniest parts though are that A. we actually met for the first time back in February, where I found him in my living room with 2 other men. They all had their shirts off and I couldn't even tell you what he looked like (kind of a burn for him I think - sorry babe), but he did answer my apt door when a guy I was seeing at the time came over that night... with  his shirt still off. Which I think startled that other guy quite a bit but that's besides the point now. AND 2. Like probably 2 weeks after Adam hit on me in the hot tub (when nothing had happened since that incident and I still wasn't thinking much of it, though wondered if something would maybe come of it eventually) is when I wrote the blog post where I was feeling sorry for myself about being alone and wishing that I could just meet that someone and live happily ever after. Another two weeks later is when we went to Goblin Valley for a camping trip and he literally swept me off my feet when I learned that in a matter of two days he made me laugh so hard I nearly cried AND we had a legit meaningful conversation too. That hilarious/sincere and meaningful combo I had been looking for for the longest time. Heavenly Father was probably laughing at me when I wrote that post because little did I know I had actually already met my future husband and would start to realize that just a month later! Timing is everything I suppose and things work out in crazy ways when you least expect them to.

I wish I had the time and energy to write tons about our dating through the summer months, because it was definitely fun-filled, but I don't. What I can say though is Adam added the spice in my life that I needed and seriously if anything I just had SO much fun with him over the summer. We're about to get a little cheesy here, so if that's not your style, then maybe skip this part. He isn't perfect, but I quickly learned that he is perfect for me. In just three months, I was laughing more than I ever thought possible and having some of the most tender conversations I've ever had in my life. The balance was perfect. Most importantly, Adam's happy and genuine disposition made me even happier. In a lot of important ways, I feel like we are twins, and in other ways, we are very different, but those differences are what allow us to learn and grow from each other and it has definitely been a growing experience for both of us! I am the luckiest girl in the world because Adam seriously treats me like a princess - I learned quickly that he would and does do anything for me. My happiness is one of his greatest concerns and it almost seems unreal to have it as good as I do. I hope through the years I can measure up to him and give him what he gives me everyday! I am very blessed.

And here we are as an engaged couple

Thanks for the fairytale ride Adam! I have loved every minute with you.

Since then we have been pretty consumed with wedding plans but have still made some time for fun, like going to Lagoon this past Friday, thanks to Nuskin, his work and making a paper chain to count down the days until our wedding. Holla!

Well folks, keep October 27th open - yep, that's the day - so you can celebrate with us. We will keep you entertained for sure and you will not regret it! Until then, lets hope that Adam keeps more hair than he loses and that I can avoid turning into an emotional wreck while we finish planning this wedding in the 41 days (umm, make that 12 days now... apparently I suck at not only starting posts, but actually finishing them and posting them - unfortunately since then Adam has lost more hair and I have been an emotional wreck at times - don't hate us) we have left to do so.

Wish us luck - we need it. I wouldn't expect another blog post from me before then. Who am I kidding, you weren't expecting it anyway!

Peace and blessings.

It's all about April.

My boyfriend informed me that my last post ended very abruptly. Oops, sorry guys, forgot to do a wrap up. My bad. But now it's time to talk about APRIL!

Lets see....

April 2-6
During this time my poor roommate Laura was dying on me. I took her to the ER and other doctor's offices many times during this time and tried my best to nurse her back to health, but it ended up being a bit of a slippery slope for her.... :( THANKFULLY though, she is better now, after a good month and a half or so of being down and out and ended up getting her appendix out. What a champ!

April 7
This marks the day I said my goodbyes to the girls of my old house, House 31. This is when I got the new individual in my current house and we had enough float hours for me to be a manager full time there so I had to call it quits in House 31. It was totally bittersweet! Miss those girls and their funny facial expressions.

April 8
I had a hardcore Easter shindig with my cousins Jenny Benny, Jillzy, and the Brynster. We really do know how to party guys. We started by doing dinner (which I unfortunately missed), then did an easter egg hunt, then had a crazy awesome photoshoot which you will witness some of those photos below, dyed eggs, and then decorated sugar cookies. What a party! Whew. I hardly celebrate Easter anymore since I've been in school, usually I just make it an excuse to buy more candy for myself than normal (ha), but it was fun to go all out for once with my girls!

April 14
I was a bridesmaid in the lovely Rachelle's wedding. My first time! It was such a fun wedding and I loved all the dancing at her reception. They served these cake pops that I was seriously obsessing over... ohhh my. Death. Wish I could eat one of those everyday for the rest of my life! She looked beautiful and they are one of my favorite couples so it was the best to be their for their whole day! I also went to her bachelorette party and rehearsal dinner just before all that. Loved it.

April 18-24
My awesome family came to visit for mine and Josh's graduation ceremonies! Yep that's right, I officially peaced out of BYU. Super bittersweet. It was legit to see the fam for about a week, and especially nice because I was able to work it out so that I didn't have to work the whole time they were here. The ceremonies were great, except for the fact that I didn't hear the graduation song ONCE. In mine OR Josh's - missed it both times. What is graduating with that song???? I was highly upset. And still am. Boo on you BYU - now I will only sort of miss you. Ha, jk. I also had the privilege of buying an awesome cute new 2012 black hyundai accent during this visit. My dad was great enough to do all the shopping with me and I just love this new little car! What a great grad present. Thanks mom and dad and a special thanks to Grandma for coming to see us too!

I got this cute BYU shirt for Tessie girl

Said goodbye to this car and hello to my new one... which I can't find the picture of. Just use your imagination.

April 27
Last but not least, this was the night of Tia's wedding reception! Definitely the season of weddings people. It's crazy cause all my best friends are just getting married one after the other. Can't get over it. Her reception was absolutely beautiful and she was beautiful! It was great as usual to have an excuse to visit with my other besties. Love my weddings!

And well, that's a wrap folks. Here's to May!

I'm finally catching up.... bear with me.

Have we met?

Wow, so I apparently am not very good at keeping this up anymore. Life has just gotten too exciting for me lately. But since it IS one of my goals, I'm going to continue on with my updates of late and they're going to be quick bullet points.... otherwise I know it will just go unread. Except for this first bullet point. It gets a little more attention because of how awesome it is. [Okay so maybe they all do because it's impossible for me to write in bullet points... so what?!]

Here was my life in March.

Witness:

March 1st
Celebrated Justin Bieber's birthday. Don't ask me when I stooped to a new level of celebrating people's birthdays that I don't even know personally, but it has happened. I went out for cupcakes with my African friend Rem and then (of course) watched the J. Bieb movie with the cousins who all happened to match so I snapped a photo. Sidenote: during the affair I found out my bestie Ms. Lindsey Tipps got engaged that day! What a memorable day to choose. Way to go Jesse.

March 16-18
Took a trip to Idaho with the one and only Bryn Clark. We went to see Thane and Shelby in Rexburg since I'd never been and then to Burley for Jessica Alvarez's mission homecoming talk. Some highlights: BYU Idaho campus is bomb with traces of Thane left everywhere, there are sand dunes in Rexburg you can see but never get to, I Like it Like That by Hot Chelle Rae is now one of Bryn's favorite songs, I almost got a speeding ticket but thanks to Jessica's 10 year old brother passionately exclaiming NO to the question about us drinking alcohol to the officer I got out of it, and Jessica's talk brought me to tears.

March 24th
I finally successfully participated in festival of colors after being in Utah for so many years! It was a party and the pictures are awesome. I loved being so colorful with fun friends. No pun intended.

March 29th
I turned 23. I also happened to have house audits on this day for work and took a trip to Wally World at 3 am for the first time in my life (it's definitely not crowded then) and then cleaned from 3:30 am - 11 am. Then I was almost too exhausted for my own birthday celebration later that night and almost called everyone to say I wasn't coming - who does that? I pulled it together though and was happy because what's a birthday without celebrating!

March 31st - April 1st
Conference weekend. I watched it with friends, other friends, and cousins! I loved every minute of it and was very inspired by all the talks. I received many insights that have helped me with my job since then, for which I am grateful!
